on the easel - moondrop
November has brought the first of spring warmth, and a threat of hot summer days to come. I'm mourning the rain-soaked days of early spring, and the crisp, pastel chill of winter mornings. But the warm weather brings at least some good - my painting studio is finally at a habitable warmth again, and the longer days means a good amount of painting time before and after work
To celebrate this, I've broken open my Arches block to begin a new painting. I've actually had the colour studies done for this for months, but something kept putting me off starting it.
The colour study had quite a brown look, and so I am deciding whether to keep that, or lean more into the pure blues and lavenders. We shall see how it turns out!
